My apartment in Germany had too little light. It was very dark for me, and only in the shower cabin was it bright enough. I suffer from astigmatism, so it was very difficult for me to live in that apartment. I often bumped into the table or into wooden beams. I was so eager for sunlight that I decided to create the sun inside my apartment. First, I observed the sun. With these three works, I propose ways to observe the sun.
You can’t look directly at the sun. So why can the Earth effortlessly absorb sunlight? Is it because the Earth rotates and therefore doesn’t have to see the sun constantly? I spin myself and try at the same time to look at the sun as if—
I look at a beehive. The bees collect honey from the flowers and make a nest. The flowers produce honey by absorbing sunlight. Looking at the honey is like looking at the sunlight itself.
#1 Golden Forest or Golden Sea masking tape, acrylic, pen
Seen from the forest or the sea toward the sun, the landscape looks as if it turns golden and the center of the light disappears.Perhaps the landscape itself could be the sun.
