In Cologne, I saw a brown coal open-pit mining landscape. From the front of the open-pit, the thistles and wind turbines in the distance seemed to be the same size. As I approached the wind turbines, I felt the overwhelming power of their rushing sound. Yet from a distance, they appeared still, like fragile white flowers. I realized that this distance transformed the individual wind turbines into a delicate flower landscape. In this work, I change the format by layering horizontal landscape images vertically to create a portrait that connects thistles and white flowers (wind turbines).
