This work was shown in an exhibition along the Rhine in Cologne. As I observed the Rhine, I noticed sandy beaches, waves, and seagulls flying along the river.These overlap with the imagery of the sea.The sea is a symbol of nature. But the waves on the Rhine are the result of passing ships.The enormous container ship carries the seagulls along and causes waves that form a sandy beach along the river.If it weren’t a ship but a giant whale, one might already call it an ocean.In the video, I transform into a grain of sand and roll to the sound of the waves.
