ラルビカイト/ Larvikite

ラルビカイトとは、ノルウェー南部の Larvik にある石切場で採れる火成岩の一種です。
ノルウェーで「夜の石」と呼ばれるラルビカイトとは何なのかを知りたくてノルウェーに行きました。そのとき、ラルビカイトと氷河の結晶構造に共通点を発見しました。私は氷河に迫ることで、このラルビカイトにもっと近づけるかもしれないと思い、制作を続けています。

Larvikite is a type of igneous rock mined in Larvik, southern Norway.

I wanted to know what the Norwegians refer to as the “night stone,” so I traveled to Norway. There, I discovered similarities in the crystal structure of Larvikite and glaciers.

I continue my artistic work, believing that by approaching glaciers, I can also get closer to Larvikite.
