Searching for White
Since the terminal moraine excavation site (the pit) acted like a glacier itself, I searched for white here in Kleinschönach – as if I were looking for fragments of the glacier – and instead of using white pastels, I used terminal moraine clay to draw.
I also constructed a frame on the wall that recalls the ceiling paintings of the Baroque and Rococo periods.
The terminal moraine clay is “the dust of the Alps,” which was transported here from the Alps by glaciers around 2,000 years ago. For me, it is a symbol of landscapes being carried.
With this clay, I attempted to shape the frame.
白を探す
エンドモレーンの採掘場（Grube）が氷河そのものに見えたことから、ここKleinschönachで氷河のかけらを探すように白いものを探し、白のパステルの代わりにエンドモレーン粘土を使って描いた。 また、バロックやロココの天井画を思わせる額縁を壁に構築した。エンドモレーン粘土は、約2000年前に氷河によってアルプスから運ばれてきた「アルプスの埃」であり、僕にとっては風景を運ぶ象徴でもある。その粘土で額縁を形づくることを試みた。
