Gray Bird #evening
Installation

In the previous Grey Bird series, I placed a temporary wall in front of a vividly colored pastel drawing and presented gray birds on it in a two-layered structure.
In „Grey Bird #evening“, I remove this division and bring everything together onto a single surface, creating a state of flat coexistence.

In the evening, flocks of parrots fly at the same height as our human gaze. Evening is the only time when they come closer to us of their own accord. However, the orange light of the setting sun overlaps with the green of the parrots, causing their color to appear almost gray to our eyes.

Here again, I find myself unable to approach that vivid green. My thoughts move from an unreachable distance to an unreachable time.

インスタレーション

これまでの「Grey Bird」シリーズでは、色鮮やかなパステル画の前に仮設の壁を設置し、その上にグレーの鳥たちを二層構造で配置してきました。
《Grey Bird #evening》では、この二つのレイヤーを取り払い、すべてを一つの平面にまとめることで、フラットな共存状態を生み出しています。

夕方になると、オウムの群れは私たち人間の目線の高さを飛行します。夕方は、彼らの方から私たちに近づいてくれる唯一の時間です。しかし、夕日のオレンジ色の光はオウムの緑と重なり合い、その色は私たちの目には灰色に近いものとして映ります。

ここでも私は、その鮮やかな緑に近づくことができませんでした。手の届かない距離から、手の届かない時間へと、思考はつながっていきます。
